How to ride?
How can I install OoGyaa app?
To download the OoGyaa app click here or simply search for "OoGyaa" in the Apple App Store or at Google Play store.
How do I find OoGyaa escooter ?
Install the app and register. You have to register your account before you can take your first ride. xThe map then will show you which OoGyaa scooter is available in your area. If you don’t find an available scooter nearby, simply zoom out the map and search the surrounding areas.
How do I unlock OoGyaa escooter?
To unlock, open the OoGyaa app and scan the QR code using your phone’s camera or enter the 5-digit code that’s below the QR code.
How do I start riding OoGyaa escooter?
To start, step on the scooter with one foot and push off with the other to start moving. Put your other foot on the footrest to hold a stable position, then press the right-hand throttle to speed up.
How do I slow down and brake?
To slow down and brake, release the throttle and gently press the brake.
Can I park without ending the ride?
Just stop and tap "Park Mode" in the app, you can park your OoGyaa escooter for 5 minutes free of charge without having to end the trip. A fee of RM .25/min will apply from 6th minute onwards.To continue your trip, tap the lock in the app. You can be in parking mode for 30 minutes.
How do I end the ride?
Before ending the ride, make sure your OoGyaa escooter is parked in an accessible area and that it is not blocking sidewalks, public roads or garages. Then just tap “End Ride” in the app.
Who can use OoGyaa escooters?
Anyone older than 16 years with an Android smartphone or iPhone.
What is the maximum speed?
Our escooters have have three speed modes.
Low - max 15 km/h
Medium - max 20 km/h
High - max 25 km/h
These speed modes can be changed by pressing the black button under the QR code. Upon starting your ride, default speed mode will always be set to medium.
Where can I ride OoGyaa escooters?
Whenever possible, use bike lanes and always use the lane further to the left. Avoid riding in taxi and bus lanes.
What about the helmet?
We strongly advise wearing a helmet. Please ride safely and respectfully in accordance with the Malaysian Road Transport Act.
What should I do before I start the ride?
Before you start riding your OoGyaa, there’s a verification process that you should follow to ensure everything is working properly:
Verify the brakes
Verify if the OoGyaa escooter is damaged
If you find anything damaged or not working, please report it to email@example.com
How many people can ride the same OoGyaa escooter?
Our escooters are not built for being used for more than one person (max. weight: 120 kg).
Can I ride a OoGyaa escooter in any weather?
It’s safe to drive OoGyaa escooter even when it’s raining, as long as it’s not heavy rain or weather that limits the driver's vision. Please be aware of slippery roads and bike lanes.
Where can I park OoGyaa escooter?
You can park anywhere, as long as the escooter is parked in an accessible area, doesn’t block sidewalks, public roads or garages.
What should I also pay attention to?
Don’t ride over speed bumps, thresholds, or other bumps at high speed. Watch your speed when traveling downhill. Use brake when traveling at high speed. Don’t press the throttle when walking with the scooter. Don’t rotate the handle violently while driving at high speed. Don’t ride through puddles or other bodies of water deeper than 2 cm. Don’t take your hands off the handlebar while riding. Do not ride with one hand only. Don’t ride up and down stairs or jump over obstacles. Don’t use mobile phones while riding.
What should I do if my escooter runs out of battery?
Stop the OoGyaa escooter and tap “End Ride” in the app. Then find a new OoGyaa escooter nearby and start a new ride. Do not try to charge a OoGyaa, only our certified agents can and know how to do it.
Do I need to pay to download the OoGyaa app?
No, it’s totally free.
How do I check my ride history?
You can always see your travel history in “My Rides”.
What should I do in case of an accident?
If you are involved in an accident that has caused physical injury to you, other persons or your OoGyaa escooter, contact the support center at firstname.lastname@example.org . If you involved in a serious accident contact the local emergency number 999. After you are in a safe condition and have contacted local authorities, contact us at +60 11 56430989.
Price and payment
How much do I have to pay to ride OoGyaa?
1.50 RM to unlock the OoGyaa escooter plus 0.50 RM for every minute you're traveling.
How do I pay?
Enter your credit/debit card data in the app to pay for your trips. For now we accept only Visa and Mastercard, but we are working on adding additional cards and payment methods.
When a payment method on your OoGyaa account is newly added (including account signup) or unused for several days, you might notice a temporary authorization hold on your account.
Temporary authorization holds are small amounts of money that are never actually charged to your account or transferred to OoGyaa. However, you may notice one of these amounts listed on your account as pending as it ensures the funds will be available on your account when a ride is complete.
These temporary holds simply allow us to protect against fraud from unauthorized card usage and are released after the associated ride is charged.
While temporary holds are immediately voided by OoGyaa, the charge might still appear on your account for a few days/weeks, depending on your bank's policies. Please contact your card company if you have questions regarding the authorization holds.
What are credit packages?
Credits packages give you a little extra. Each credit is worth RM .50. Bigger the package, cheaper the credit value. We offer three credit packages:
Small Package: It costs RM 10 and comes with 5 extra credits. You will receive 25 credits in total
Medium Package: It costs RM 25 and comes with 15 extra credits. You will receive 65 credits in total
Large Package: It costs RM 50 and comes with 40 extra credits. You will receive 140 credits in total.
How are credits charged for each ride?
Credits act just like cash. If your total trip costs RM 10 (unlock fees + per minute pricing + parking charges (if any)) and you have 50 credits, that trip will use (10/.50) 20 credits. You’ll have a balance of 30 credits for future use.
What if I don’t have enough credits for a ride?
If your total trip costs RM 10 and you have only 15 credits (which are worth RM 7.50 (15x.50= 7.50), you’ll pay the rest of RM 2.50 through the credit card stored in your account.
Do I have to buy credit packages?
No, these are optional. But we recommend our users to purchase credit packages, as it gives them extra value and you’ll get more out of your money.
What are the business areas?
In order to provide the best service, our escooters can only be used in the business areas. These business areas are outlined in black on the OoGyaa App. You will for now need to get back to these Business Areas in order to end your ride.
Can I ride outside the business area?
Yes! Our escooters can be driven outside the Business Areas as long as you stay within the reasonable distance from the business area. However, you have to be in the business area in order to end the ride
Why do I have to share my GPS location with OoGyaa?
We ask that you share your GPS location so you can find the OoGyaa closest to you on the map.
Why do I have to give camera access to OoGyaa?
We request camera-access to enable the unlocking of the scooter via QR code.
